Leola D’Aversa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. The Colorado native moved to Atlanta in 2007 to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at the illustrious Spelman College. Leola then earned her Master of Arts degree in clinical mental health at Argosy University. Throughout her years of working in the field Leola has provided services in various therapeutic settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and various community based mental health agencies.
Her clinical experience includes, but is not limited to individual and family therapy with children, adolescents and adults, intake and psychosocial assessments, and crisis stabilization work as an Intensive Family Intervention team lead. Leola has worked with individuals from many culturally diverse backgrounds as well as children in foster care with severe trauma histories.
Leola utilizes various therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Solution Focused therapy. She believes that each client travels a unique journey down the road to self-discovery. Leola strives to assist individuals with making positive changes by tailoring her modalities to fit their specific needs, and by focusing on their strengths. By acknowledging patterns, breaking cycles, and restoring balance, individuals and families can greatly improve their quality of life.
