Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD as it is often called, is a mental health condition that is brought upon by either experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. PTSD is often associated with combat veterans, but it can equally impact survivors of abuse, assault, sexual abuse, trauma, domestic violence, unstable/unsafe childhood environments, accidents, and victims of crime and natural disasters.
If you are experiencing PTSD, we at Counsel Connections understand that your life might be very challenging right now. You might be experiencing intrusive memories or flashbacks of the trauma, nightmares and/or sleep disturbances. You may be trying very hard to avoid thinking about the traumatic event and anything that reminds you of it. You may be experiencing strong feelings of anger, depression, and anxiety. Perhaps your interpersonal relationships are suffering. Please know that you are not alone. The counselors at Counsel Connections are experienced clinical professionals who have helped numerous survivors to stabilize their PTSD symptoms, work through their trauma histories, and move forward in health and healing.
