Trauma Therapy
Emotional and psychological trauma occurs when we experience extraordinarily stressful events that threaten our personal sense of safety and security. There are three types of trauma: Acute trauma results from a single incident; Chronic trauma is repeated and prolonged, such as childhood abuse or domestic violence; Complex trauma is exposure to multiple traumatic events, often of an invasive, interpersonal nature.
If you have had trauma in your life, whether it happened recently or a long time ago, you may be struggling with deep emotional pain, fear, troubling memories, and impacted personal relationships. You may be experiencing symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety and depression. Perhaps you feel like things will never get better. We want you to know that there is hope. Through engaging in trauma counseling, you can find healing and wellness.
We recognize that making the decision to begin trauma counseling can be difficult. We want you to know that here at Counsel Connections you will find kindness, compassion, support, and the expertise you need to heal from your trauma. All this takes place in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you on this journey.
