About Me

Growing up, Lindsay always wanted to help others. Initially, she wanted to join the Powerpuff Girls and save the world.. but, when that inevitably did not work out, she opted for the next best thing: being a counselor! She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia before acquiring her LMSW licensure. She has over 4 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of settings, including hospitals, non-profits, and private practice.
Childhood and adolescence can be a challenging time, and Lindsay understands that it can often be difficult for kids to communicate their needs and convey their feelings in healthy ways. This is why she uses an approach that incorporates creative expressive modalities and play therapy techniques (children under 12). This allows clients to express themselves in a fun yet developmentally appropriate way. However, if clients are not in the mood to play or are not necessarily the “creative type,” she also utilizes more traditional talk-therapy approaches like CBT and client-centered therapy. Ultimately, she believes that the most important aspect of counseling is the therapeutic relationship between herself and the client, so she will take the time to address the unique and individual needs of every person.
