About Me

Stephanie is a Brazilian-American, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Georgia State University, and completed her Master’s Degree at Mercer University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Stephanie speaks English, Portuguese, and Moderate Spanish.
Her clinical experience has included: crisis intervention in an ER setting, conducting individual and group counseling sessions in an inpatient facility, and providing individual and group therapy for a community services center.
She believes in the importance of the therapeutic alliance between counselor and client: and acknowledges the immense courage it takes to seek support and explore one’s innermost world within sessions. Creating a safe environment to move through past traumas, processing through life transitions, identifying and accomplishing goals, exploring one’s sense of self-identity, and working on reducing or eliminating substance use/abuse are her areas of focus in her role as a clinician.
Stephanie does not believe in a one-size-fits-all style of therapy: and collaborates with her clients to create an integrative approach to better serve each individual. Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Existential counseling are several of the modalities that she utilizes in sessions. Stephanie works with her clients to think critically about their lived experiences, in order to aid each person in moving towards a space of self-acceptance and self- understanding.
